I knew very young that I was the glue.

I was the one who held things together. The one people could depend on. The one who stepped in, figured it out, and made sure everybody was okay. I thought that was just who I was.

As I got older, being the glue got heavier. I was carrying so much I did not know what belonged to me anymore. I just knew I was tired.

So I asked God to show me another way. Little by little, He did. He showed me what was actually mine to carry and what I had picked up along the way.

I still love. I still give. I still lead. I just do it differently now. And I get to enjoy the life God gave me without being emptied by everything and everybody around me.

That is why I wrote this book. So women like us finally have language for what we have been living.
